Monthly Technology Business Review Meetings – Last Wednesday of every month
────

Over the past decade, our nation has witnessed an astonishing evolution of cyber risk that continues to grow in size and sophistication.

According to global insurance brokerage Marsh, sophisticated and dangerous factions are attacking at low cost, without attribution, and often under the protection of a jurisdiction or nation state. The result has been an epic crime wave with enormous consequences for businesses.

Many metaphors have been invoked to describe this phenomenon. The most apt is piracy. Simply put, it is a new generation of raiders committed to plunder the virtual high seas.

Join us for an interactive panel discussion on

Surviving Your Voyage on the Virtual High Seas:

Unique Perspectives on Cyber Risk

Our diverse panel of functional and subject matter leaders will share their stories and industry insights to help you assess, prevent, detect, respond and recover from an attack.

You’ll hear from:

  • a Special Agent with the Chicago Division of the FBI
  • a Marketing/Brand Consultant
  • a Real Estate Executive
  • an IT Industry Veteran

You’ll learn:

  • The most vulnerable and least obvious access for cyber-attacks on your business.
  • The most common misconceptions about who is at risk.
  • How to partner with law enforcement when dealing with a cyber-attack.
  • How to keep your organization informed on cyber risk.
  • Who should be managing the Security and Risk review in your company.
  • Strategies to mitigate cyber threats and how to prepare for recovery.

Companies have lost hundreds of millions of customer records, suffered rampant pilfering of intellectual property, and endured the theft of funds and sensitive financial information.  There is no company or industry that is not affected by cyber risk.

Software security provider Symantec estimates that 60% of cyber-attacks target small- and mid-size businesses.

Even more disconcerting, Marsh research indicates that

  • On average, it takes an organization more than 200 days to realize that its systems have been breached. In multiple instances, breaches have been undetected for years.
  • In more than 65 percent of cyber-attacks, it is a third party, and not the organization itself, which discovers that a breach occurred.

Let’s jump on board, and cut them to pieces. – Blackbeard
